What Happens When You Make A Mistake On A Customer's Print Order

Every creative professional has probably had this scenario happen to them.
You've designed the "perfect" promotional piece for your client, you had someone you know "proof" it, you sent it to the client to have them approve it, you placed the print order and approved the proof online; only to get the shipment and something is spelled wrong or out of place on the finished piece. 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️
So what do you do when this happens?

Unfortunately, asking for more money from your client to do a re-print is not an option and the printer may not refund you because you actually signed off on the proof.
The next step is explaining to your client what happened and to assume the costs for a re-run. If the project is time sensitive, you may also have to pay for express shipping. Sometimes if you're lucky, they may give you a break on the re-print or a coupon for money off a future order.
The moral to the story is that we all make mistakes but always triple check your client's work.
